Mames Babegenush is a Copenhagen-based instrumental ensemble blending Eastern European folk traditions with a distinctly Nordic sensibility. Their repertoire combines original compositions with music rooted in Eastern European traditions, shaped through the ensemble’s own arrangements and dynamic interplay.

Moving freely between folk, jazz and chamber music, the group has earned a reputation for powerful live performances built on virtuosity, improvisation and deep musical storytelling.

On stage, Mames Babegenush unfolds a vivid and dynamic musical universe — intimate, explosive and constantly alive. Over the years, the ensemble has performed at renowned venues and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Bergen International Festival, Ravinia Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, The Royal Danish Theatre, Chicago World Music Festival, Roskilde Festival and Paradiso.
